Fuengirola & District Society (FADS) was formed in 1988 by a small group of people who realised the need for an English speaking social club in the area. After holding the club in several different venues, we are now based in St. Andrew’s Church in Los Boliches. We meet every Thursday from 11.0 a.m. until 1.0 p.m. The first hour of the club is for socialisation, booking trips, etc and the second hour is dedicated to quizzes, other activities and games. There is also access to an extensive fiction library.
The reputation of the club, and the social activities organised are passed by word of mouth. There is a welfare officer to help members with blood pressure checks and flu jabs and for general advice on health matters. Over the years, we have raised funds to support numerous local charities, including Fuensocial and Cudeca, as well as supporting a young lad who lives in Haiti.
FADS organises Mystery Trips on a regular basis, with named trips in between the mystery trips. We organise a monthly trip to Gibraltar. We also organise regular Dinner Dances and ad hoc functions such as San Juan celebrations on the beach.
We are happy to accept new members, who hopefully can bring with them new ideas and suggestions to further benefit the club and its members. Membership is 10 euros per year, and we are happy for prospective members to visit the club on a Thursday morning to meet the current members before deciding to apply for membership.
If you would like to meet us, please come along to St. Andrews Church, near Los Boliches Train Station, any Thursday between 11.0 a.m. and 1.0 p.m. For further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact The President, Betty Frost on (0034) 952 663 207.
